The city if hoppin’ this weekend with all sorts of things to do for kids and families and for grown-ups looking for some fun.

Hershey’s Track & Field Games

• Saturday, June 16^th from 9am – 1pm
• Foote Field  - 11601 68 Ave
• Celebrate. Spectate. Participate at the Edmonton International Athletics Festival
• The Hershey’s Track & Field Games is a 2 day event for 9-14 year olds who have previously competed in Hershey’s meets at their schools throughout the year.
• This program introduces children to physical fitness through basic track & field events like running, jumping and throwing
• The games features running events like the 50 metre dash and the 800 metre run and it has field events like the softball throw and the standing long jump
• Winners become eligible for selection to the regional team, which attends the Hershey’s North American Final in Pennsylvania
• Following this event, the Donovan Bailey Invitational starts at 1pm
• The cost for an individual ticket is $11.69

Petting Zoo and Kids Clothing Giveaway

• Saturday, June 16^th from 12pm – 3pm
• The Mustard Seed – 10635 96 Street
•  Giveaways for babies to teens
• There will be a bouncy castle, drum making station and refreshments

 Fibrofree Gigantic Garage Sale

• All proceeds go toward fibromyalgia research

Edmonton’s emerging choreographers and dancers are set to strut their stuff again tonight.  Dancefest @ Nextfest continues at the Roxy Theatre, $10 – $40 (festival pass)

Tiger Woods SEEMS to be back to his old self at the US Open after finishing 2^nd in the opening round.  We’ll see if his performance holds up, the final round goes on Sunday.

Finally, we get to watch some CFL football!  The Eskimo’s kickoff the pre-season Friday night in Calgary at 7pm.  The first regular season game goes at the end of the month in Toronto.

The NBA final is tied a 1 game-a-piece after the Heat held off the Thunder to win 100-96.  Game 3 is on Sunday night

And “the beautiful game” continues with EURO 2012 on TSN.
