Spending time at the Capital Ex isn’t just playing games and shopping – its also the carnival food right? I say it every year on Canada Day that it’s the beginning of mini donut season because thats when I begin to try to eat as many mini donuts as I possibly can. Bless those mini donut farmers for keeping me satisfied! But we’re getting more and more health concious so how can you go to a carnival and keep it healthy? Here are some ways to stick to your diet but still have fun.
1 – Pack yourself a lunch or some healthy snacks so that when you get hungry you don’t give in to temptation right away.
2 – Sit down when you eat so that you’re not “grazing”. By taking the time to sit down you won’t stop at just any food truck you see.
3 – Give in to one indulgence. It won’t hurt you or set you back to the beginning of your weight loss adventure.
4 – Share with friends! Instead of taking a whole bucket of mini donuts for yourself (which is totally what I do) pass them around your friends and family.
And just for fun I found out what the 7 worst foods are calorie wise at the fair according to fitsugar.com
Cotton Candy – 200 calories
Snow Cones – 550 calories
Corn Dogs – 375 calories
Deep Fried Oreos – 157 calories
Deep Fried Candy Bars – a king sized bar can have over 700 calories
