Overcoming Mascot Fears

Our youngest is terrified of mascots. This is troubling for Jamie and I as parents, and perhaps doubley so for our oldest who desperately wants to go to Disney one day.

We’ve tried explaining away mascot fear but it just doesn’t seem to work. In fact, it seems she gets even more scared.

Jamie and I have talked about getting a costume to wear so that she can watch us put it on and take it off. That should help right?

I finally had the oportunity at the 10th Annual Canadian Red Cross Charity Golf Tournament at the Derrick Golf and Winter Club. At one of the tee boxes we were given the option of putting on the Buckles the mascot suit to take a shot. Here’s how it went.

It probably won’t help overcome any fears, but it was fun and it didn’t hurt my golf game that much.

Hmm?
